Ajintha narrates a love story of a British Major who falls in love with a Marathi Buddhist tribal girl, while on his visit to India to paint the historical monuments and scriptures. It also showcases the historic Ajanta caves and the beautiful scriptures on the walls of the caves depicting the ancient Buddhist culture. The story of the film is inspired from rea life events.
