The storyline of Vicky Donor is based on sperm donation and infertility inspired by Canadian movie Starbuck. The film won the National Award for Best Popular Film providing wholesome entertainment at the 60th National Film Awards. The film was also a major blockbuster hit and it was very well-acclaimed by the critics of Bollywood.
