Tamil Pesum Kadhanayagi was a unique show that was crafted with the idea of searching women who were seeking a chance in the world of cinema as an actress and who would also be adept in Tamil along with the other qualities that are required for the field. Auditions were held in various cities such as Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Madurai, Coimbatore, Cochin & one international location being Malaysia, since it being a largely Tamil populated region. The winners of the competition would be picked by the finest Directors of Kollywood who were also the judges of the entire show. They were namely Gautham Menon, K.S. Ravikumar, Vishnuvardhan, Mysskin, Vetrimaaran, Cheran, Ameer & Sasi Kumar
